Requirements

Our goal is to provide a subjectively safe and controlled environment for our students to ride. In order to do so, we have a list of requirements for our students:

A minimum of one year of streetbike riding experience.

Student Motorcycle Requirements:

  • Remove or tape mirrors. Tape brake lights , signal lights, headlight
  • Must be in safe mechanical condition and are subject to a tech inspection prior to entering the road course
  • Tires must not exhibit wear that may compromise the safe handling of the motorcycle
  • Brake system must function within safe mechanical tolerances
  • All parts of the motorcycle must be securely fastened
  • No fluid leaks

Required Riding Apparel:

  • All riders must have suitable riding apparel including
  • A minimum of a DOT approved full face helmet. SNELL Approval is highly recommended. (NO flip up helmets allowed)
  • A 1 or 2 pc. textile suit for first time and novice riders. Leathers are recommended as riders advance into the intermediate group, and will become a requirement at the instructor's discretion.
  • Leather gloves with a gauntlet style wrist.
  • Boots that cover the ankle. Riding boots are recommended
  • A back protector is highly recommended.

Rules of the Track

In order to keep our students and instructors safe rules must be followed:

In the Pit Area:

  • Attend and pay attention to all instructions given during riders meetings.
  • Inspect your motorcycle and riding apparel prior to riding.
  • stay within your designated group unless you receive approval from your instructor to join a different group.
  • Speed limit in the pits is approximately 30kph to protect pedestrians.

On the Track:

  • ENTER the track from the pit entrance only.
  • EXIT the track from the carousel gate only.
  • NEVER STOP OR SUDDENLY SLOW DOWN ON THE TRACK EVER.
  • Look ahead of you only. What is happening behind you is NOT your concern. It is the instructor's job to pay attention to what is behind you.
  • Follow all passing rules designated by your group, and by your instructor.
  • No horseplay: ZERO TOLERANCE.
  • You MAY be given up to 2 warnings for violation of rules; however BGPR reserves the right to eject you from the track at ANY time for inappropriate behavior or riding.
